Multi-collinear splitting kernels for track function evolution

چکیده
Jets and their substructure play a central role in many analyses at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). To improve precision of measurements, as well to enable measurement jet increasingly small angular scales, tracking information is often used due its superior resolution robustness pile-up. Calculations track-based observables involve non-perturbative track functions, that absorb infrared divergences perturbative calculations describe transition charged hadrons. The are directly related renormalization group evolution (RGE), can be systematically computed perturbation theory. Unlike standard DGLAP evolution, RGE functions non-linear, encoding correlations fragmentation process. We compute next-to-leading order (NLO) which involves kernel full $1\rightarrow3$ splitting function. discuss detail how we implement equation numerically, illustrate size NLO corrections. also show our viewed master for collinear NLO, by illustrating integrating out specific terms, one derive any $N$-hadron Our results provide crucial ingredient obtaining predictions generic measurements LHC, improving description dynamics jets.

Integrated Track Splitting Filter for Manoeuvring Targets
The paper presents a new algorithm for tracking a manoeuvring target in a cluttered environment. The algorithm combines the Integrated Track Splitting (ITS) filter with the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) algorithm. The ITS filter is a multiscan method for automatic target tracking in clutter. The multiscan foundation provides good tracking capabilities even when the probability of detection i...
متن کاملAn Improved Splitting Function for Small x Evolution
We summarize our recent result for a splitting function for small x evolution which includes resummed small x logarithms deduced from the leading order BFKL equation with the inclusion of running coupling effects. We compare this improved splitting function with alternative approaches. Presented by G.A. at DIS 2003 St. Petersburg, April 2003 To be published in the proceedings CERN-TH/2003-238 S...
متن کاملOn Train Track Splitting Sequences
We present a structure theorem for the subsurface projections of train track splitting sequences. For the proof we introduce induced tracks, efficient position, and wide curves. As a consequence of the structure theorem we prove that train track sliding and splitting sequences give quasi-geodesics in the train track graph; this generalizes a result of Hamenstädt [Invent. Math.].
متن کاملKernels for Multi--task Learning
This paper provides a foundation for multi–task learning using reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of vector–valued functions. In this setting, the kernel is a matrix–valued function. Some explicit examples will be described which go beyond our earlier results in [7]. In particular, we characterize classes of matrix– valued kernels which are linear and are of the dot product or the translation in...
متن کاملSplitting for Multi-objective Optimization
We introduce a new multi-objective optimization (MOO) methodology based the splitting technique for rare-event simulation. The method generalizes the elite set selection of the traditional splitting framework, and uses both local and global sampling to sample in the decision space. In addition, an ε-dominance method is employed to maintain good solutions. The algorithm was compared with state-o...
